CJPME calls for sanctions on Israel to end famine in Gaza

Montreal, August 25, 2025 - Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME) strongly condemns Canada’s continued failure to take concrete action to end the genocide in Gaza, despite its recent acknowledgement of the veracity of the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report confirming the existence of famine in Gaza. CJPME continues to urge Canada to put meaningful sanctions on Israel as the only way to force an end to these atrocities.

CJPME has and will continue to honour the commitments to self-determination and sovereignty we have made to Indigenous Nations and Peoples.  CJPME also acknowledges the historical oppression of lands, cultures and the original Peoples in what we now know as Canada and fervently believes that its work should contribute to the healing and decolonizing journey we all share together.
