CJPME cordially invites Canadians to a talk by Tariq Ramadan, philosopher, writer and academic, as he speaks to the challenges facing our societies today.  Dr. Ramadan will deliver a political talk entitled, “Creating Thriving Societies in Troubling Times,” in five Canadian cities: Calgary, Edmonton, London, Mississauga and Toronto. Please join us for this political lecture by Prof. Ramadan’s which will center on the upheavals facing the Middle East, Europe and North America: e.g. the ongoing conflicts, the shifting alliances, the international terrorist incidents, the East-West perceptions, the massive refugee movements, etc.  Ramadan's talk will be followed by a Q&A period. Fisk’s lectures will be entitled “‘Goodbye, Mr Sykes! Adieu, M. Gideon Levy - Israeli Elections: What next for Israel-Palestine? - March 2015

With its local partners, CJPME is delighted to host Israeli author and journalist Gideon Levy for an eight-city tour, March 22 - 29, 2015. Levy — a journalist with Haaretz since 1982 — will talk about the Palestine-Israel conflict in light of the March 17 Israeli elections in his talk entitled: "Israeli Elections: What next for Israel-Palestine?" Levy is a strong critic of Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians and a strong supporter of the boycott of Israel. Levy has also questioned the viability of the “two-state solution.” Each lecture will be followed by a Q&A period. This series of events is co-sponsored with several organizations across the country; please see the individual events for co-sponsoring organizations.

Rev. Alex Awad - Palestinian Memories: a palestinian christian perspective on the Arab-Israeli conflict - October 2013

CJPME is delighted to invite you hear Palestinian Christian leader and author Rev. Alex Awad Tuesday, Oct. 22 in downtown Montreal. Rev. Awad is Dean of Students at Bethlehem Bible College, Pastor of East Jerusalem Baptist Church, and Director of the Shepherd Society. He is also the author of Palestinian Memories: The Story of a Palestinian Mother and Her People. In his book, Awad shares his family's struggle after his father is shot in 1948 in front of their home in East Jerusalem, and his mother's superhuman struggle to raise seven children on her own.
