Interested in volunteering with CJPME?

CJPME is always looking for passionate individuals, from any background, to help us advance human rights in Canada and the Middle East. CJPME thrives off of people like you who give willingly of their time and skills to support our important work.

You can be involved with CJPME in a number of ways:

1. CJPME Local Chapters - You can join or start your own CJPME chapter. Learn more here.

2. CJPME's Lobby Corps - You can join our advocacy and training network as an individual activist. More details to be released soon. Sign up to learn more once its announced.

3. Volunteer for operational tasks with head office in Montreal. These opportunities are intermittent and available as needed by head office.

4. Provide Professional Services to CJPME on a pro-bono basis (graphic design, web development, research, legal, facilitation, etc.)

5. Get involved with CJPME’s Media Accountability Project (MAP)

CJPME’s Media Accountability Project (MAP) works to ensure fair and accurate coverage of Middle East issues in Canadian media. There are two ways to get involved:

    • MAP Responders – These volunteers receive our email alerts about media coverage that needs a response. When an alert goes out, they can choose to take action by sending emails or submitting comments to media outlets. This role is flexible and open to anyone who wants to help hold media accountable.
    • MAP Writers – These volunteers take a more active role in CJPME’s media advocacy. They commit to joining a 30-minute weekly scrum (Tuesdays at 10:30 AM EST) where they are assigned letters to write or edit in response to media coverage. This role is ideal for individuals who want to engage more deeply in media advocacy and contribute regularly.

Below you will find just a few of the ways you can help CJPME carry out its mission. Please check any of the following boxes that may apply:

CJPME acknowledges that our offices, located in Montreal, are on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of the Kanienʼkehá꞉ka (Mohawk), whose presence here reaches back to time immemorial.  CJPME recognizes the Kanienʼkehá꞉ka as the customary keepers and defenders of the St. Lawrence River Watershed and its tributaries. We honour their long history of welcoming many Nations to this beautiful territory and uphold and uplift the voice and values of our Host Nation.  Further, CJPME respects and affirms the inherent and Treaty Rights of all Indigenous Peoples across this land. CJPME has and will continue to honour the commitments to self-determination and sovereignty we have made to Indigenous Nations and Peoples.  CJPME also acknowledges the historical oppression of lands, cultures and the original Peoples in what we now know as Canada and fervently believes that its work should contribute to the healing and decolonizing journey we all share together.
