Quebec pop star Céline Dion recently announced that she would perform two concerts in Tel Aviv, Israel in August as part of her “Courage” world tour. Since 2005, Palestinian civil society has asked for the world to boycott Israel until it respects the human rights of Palestinians. This movement is called BDS – Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions – and dozens of famous performers have already refused to perform in Israel, including Roger Waters, Lorde, Elvis Costello, Lauryn Hill, Peter Gabriel and others. B’nai Brith is calling the NDP to drop their candidate for Ville Saint-Laurent, Ms. Miranda Gallo, because of her activism for Palestinian human rights. B’nai Brith has attacked Gallo primarily for her support for BDS: the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement pressuring Israel to respect Palestinian human rights. Click-here to tell the NDP that they must stand with Gallo and her principled stand for Palestinian human rights.
